National Science Foundation Grant Awarded to Dr. Yolanda Covington-Ward

Dr. Covington-Ward was awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant for $75,000 from the Cultural Anthropology Program in the Division of Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences. The award period is from 2019-2021 and is through the Cultural Anthropology Scholars mechanism. This grant will allow Dr. Covington-Ward to pursue training in demography and quantitative analysis through courses at Penn State and Pitt while pursuing the topic of “Migration, Stress, and Obesity Risk,” examining the impact of migration on the health of African immigrants.
